Diesel Update

It's about time I gave an update about our Dachshund cross Cavalier, Diesel, since the last time you saw him he was a baby. Well, he's still really a baby at 9 months but is maturing into a playful, curious and handsome little man.

Still enjoys nothing more than a cuddle and nap on your lap under a blanket...

He has now become much more lively and bouncy but still literally wants to be on you when he falls asleep. He kips in his bed no problem, not a squeak. But I will add he is now on his fifth bed... he can't help his fetish for zips and stuffing.

This is his fifth bed.

He is a helpful dog mind, this is him making the bed hah. He follows us around the house everywhere and loves finding an empty toilet roll on the odd occasion. He enjoys a slip of tea or tropical juice when we are not looking, wasting many a cup in his little life so far.

This is Diesel with his girlfriend, Lola the Shih Tzu cross. It's a long distance relationship as they are 300miles apart, but it certainly wasn't love at first sight. In fact, he crapped himself the first time he met her, as she literally bounces off the walls. See Diesel is hyper when he wants to be, he'll do a good few laps round our garden at super turbo speed - but he also at times is a bit of a wimp. He avoided her at all costs, until she nudged him enough into being chums.

He has obviously grown a lot in the last few months but I'm not sure if he's got any more growing to do now. He has huge paws and curly scruffy ears, and a white patch running all the way under his stomach. Whilst he looked more like a Cavalier when he was a baby - he's now got the nose and large chest of a dachshund but the ears and face of a spaniel.

He loves a good car ride but tends to fall asleep with the vibrations and warmth. He now hates cats with a passion, has had a go on numerous occasions but has ended up with a serious swat every time. This doesn't put him off. I bought him dog bubbles today, he went nuts.

This is him failing at being 'stealth' thief. You can't leave much hanging in this house, because his curiosity has no bounds. We accidentally left the oven gloves out, he sneaks them out for a good chew and falls asleep on the act. Fail.

He's a little charmer and is loved by everyone that's met him - I still search for information on this cross breed on the internet...there's a little more info than there was but I hope this blog can give people a better insight into both puppy and adult Dashaliers.
